Ayurveda as it is
INDIAN TRADITIONS AND THEIR UNSEEN MIRACLES
Last night I was surfing through a wellness website owned by
some foreign author and suddenly I came across the health benefits of
"Golden milk" and how it was used effectively to combat COVID 19
crises. While surfing through another website I read about Moringa and its
immense health benefits, Indian Gooseberry (Amla) , anti acne benefits of Neem
leaves and how pharma companies are using their active principles and selling
all these out in the name of modern Ayurveda and earning millions of dollar
benefits. Let me remember wasn't I told about these things by my grandmother and
I dismissed her knowledge jokingly in the name of modern medications. I
dismissed my legacy in the name of modernity and for the sake of being
called an up to date woman. was it less miraculous when my mother used to give
it to me when I used to be ill? I think the name Golden latte is more miraculous
and expensive too and it also adds a tinge of status to my personality.
Once called backwardly , now the entire world is accepting the
power of Indian traditions except the people born in India. Royal people from UK descended to India to seek Ayurvedic treatment during pandemic times to cure their COVID. These incidents are not
for the sake of any fake propaganda but to make us realize that if we don't
value our culture and traditions it would be utilized by others.
Not many of us are aware about the US Patent Law. The law
accepts any knowledge which is not known to the people of US but it clearly has
no interest whether the knowledge is profound in other cultures. One awfully
fine day an American researcher found out the health benefits of
"Gomutra" and patented it. Some of you might ask what difference does
it make its known to us millions of years back but if you are preparing a
medicine and have to use Gomutra you have to pay the price to the US Govt. Pharmaceutical companies are importing herbs in the name of trade at cheaper rates from south
east Asian countries and conducting their researches and patenting them and we
are sitting blind folded.
Another interesting fact ; this one you might be quite amused to
learn. Recently an Indian CM was trying to sell Cowdung and was
humiliated by a lot of people but did any of us check Amazon? Its sending
Cowdung cakes at 100 Rs INR or more. SO, the moral of the story is if we keep on
making fun of our own knowledge we would be robbed of it. Some other examples
of our eternal knowledge being researched on by foreign scholars are as
follows:
1. US wished to patent CURCUMIN as well but Indian researchers
intervened and it was prevented before time.
2. 108 Tandava poses of Shiva are recognized as the motion of sub atomic particles by German researchers.
CERN, SWITZERLAND3. NASA is conducting extensive research upon the extra
terrestrial life using Riga Veda, Aum vibrations and Gayatri mantras as signals
to contact other galaxies.
4. Hitler was trying to build weapons described in ancient Jain and Indian scriptures.
These might just be small incidents but a reasonable question is why every European discovery is relevant but our ancient knowledge is being overlooked? I request the youth of this great nation to value our traditions not because they are native to us but because of their relevance, scientific approach and miraculous results otherwise once native will no longer remain innate but we would be paying a price for that.
